Potential resin allocation creates pressure for a supply guarantee and a fast substitute decision. The procurement specialist can create a more useful response by separating forecast confidence from confirmed orders and by identifying where material changes are already approved.

Why cannot we use the substitute everywhere?” Specialist Colin responds, “I cannot guarantee an allocation or approve a material change. Let’s first compare the supplier notice, current demand forecast, and the matrix of approved materials.
