Run an Adoption Review When Managers Stop Coaching
Use usage evidence and manager interviews to restore a coaching rhythm without guessing at skill improvement.
Usage declines deserve a careful adoption review. A customer success manager can show which teams completed practice or reviews, then ask managers what changed in their work. Activity reports describe participation. They do not establish that seller skill improved or reveal the reason a routine faded.
In a fictional meeting, CSM Dana says, “The East team completed three manager reviews last month, while the West team completed none. What changed in the West forecast process?” Enablement leader Rob says, “The new manager inherited a large territory.” Dana replies, “Could we speak with that manager and compare the review agenda with East? We can identify a workable slot and a scenario that matches the territory.” Rob says, “I need evidence before asking people to restart.” Dana answers, “We can bring the participation record and three manager interviews to a review of the agreed adoption plan.”
The conversation gives the customer ownership of the diagnosis. It avoids treating a login report as a verdict on program value. It also identifies the manager who can make practice part of a real work rhythm.
For practice, create a short adoption review with three columns: verified activity, manager explanation, and next experiment. Roleplay a customer who says, “Our sellers are busy.” Ask which manager meeting already exists and what call type would make a review lasting five minutes relevant. End with an owner, a date, and the evidence you will examine together.
