Feasibility is useful to discuss before an experiment is designed, provided the discussion stays anchored in what is known. A field application scientist can explain approved specifications and help a postdoctoral researcher define the information needed for a scoped evaluation. They should not convert an early idea into a promise of method performance.
Ask about the sample type, expected input range, experimental objective, planned workflow, and constraints that could affect a test. Compare those details with approved product documentation. If significant variables remain open, explain what an evaluation designed by the customer would need to examine and who owns its review. The research team retains responsibility for study design, validation, and interpretation.
In a fictional conversation, a researcher asks, “Can you say this method will work before we design the experiment?” The application scientist replies, “I cannot make that statement yet. I can show you the documented specifications and ask a few questions about your sample type and input range.
