Prospect Into Cash Visibility With Respectful Questions
Use a hypothesis about cash planning without inventing a problem.
Cash visibility can mean daily trade-offs to one finance team and forecast confidence to another, so an SDR should not treat it as a universal pain.
A respectful follow-up names the operational question the prospect raised. For example: “You mentioned trade-offs are checked in several places before the weekly meeting. Would it help to map that handoff?” This is specific enough for a finance leader to accept or reject. It treats the current treasury process as useful context for discovery.
Ask how frequently leaders review cash position and what information arrives too late for a decision. A fictional distributor may use bank portals for trade-offs while its operating forecast is maintained elsewhere.
Avoid claims about liquidity, accuracy, or financial performance. Keep the conversation on information flow. Let the prospect say, “We already have a treasury process.” Coach the SDR to ask which decisions that process supports.
Offer a discovery conversation only if the prospect identifies a workflow worth examining.
Try an opener about a weekly trade-off review. Strong behavior asks what decision waits for the view; weak behavior promises a better forecast before the prospect has described their current information. A specific follow-up asks which meeting uses the trade-off view and whether someone must combine bank information before that meeting begins.
