Offer a Spa Retail Routine With Guest Consent
Turn a guest's stated goals into a brief product conversation that stays within product information.
A spa guest may welcome a product suggestion after a service, or may want to leave without discussing retail. Ask permission before beginning: “Would a brief look at the products used today be helpful?” Their answer sets the pace. If they agree, connect the discussion to a stated preference such as fragrance, texture, or the time they have at home.
Use ingredient lists, directions, and approved product descriptions. Avoid diagnosing skin conditions or predicting results. A guest who asks about a prescription, a persistent concern, or a reaction needs guidance from an appropriate clinician. Keep the product conversation focused on what the guest can read, test, and decide.
A guest says, “I liked the facial, but I only have two minutes in the morning.” The associate says, “May I show the two products your provider used that fit a short routine?” The guest agrees. The associate continues, “This cleanser has these listed directions, and this moisturizer has no added fragrance according to the label. Would you like to feel the texture before deciding?”
Practice with three products and their approved cards. One colleague plays a guest who wants no recommendations; another wants a simpler routine. Roleplay both responses. After each round, write down the permission question, the product fact you used, and the point where you would refer the guest to an appropriate expert. That review keeps consent at the center of the recommendation.
