Route a worker safety concern through the client process
Respond to a reported site concern with immediate factual escalation and respectful communication.
When a worker raises a safety concern, the client success manager should focus on getting the report to the appropriate site process promptly. Gather only the facts needed to identify the location, time, task, and immediate contact. Follow the staffing firm’s escalation procedure and the client’s stated route. Do not investigate technical conditions or tell the worker what the site will decide.
Ask whether the worker is currently safe and whether they have already notified a supervisor. If urgent action is needed, direct them to the established emergency or site reporting route. Document the time, people contacted, and confirmed instruction. Keep later status updates factual and avoid sharing details beyond those who need them to respond.
Worker Tasha told client success manager Luis, “The lift gate moved while I was unloading.” Luis asked, “Are you away from the area and able to reach your site supervisor now?” Tasha said yes. Luis replied, “Please tell the supervisor immediately. I will notify our designated client contact that you reported a concern at dock three around nine fifteen.” The client contact confirmed that the safety lead would meet Tasha and asked Luis to keep the worker informed of the reporting route.
Practice with a fictional report from a worksite. Write the first four facts you would capture and identify the emergency, client, and internal escalation contacts in your approved materials. Roleplay a manager pressing you to explain the cause. Practice saying what was reported and who is handling the assessment. A coach can verify that your response gets the concern to the right people without making an unsupported conclusion.
