Discover Prospective Sample Access Before Designing an Evaluation
Guide an evaluation conversation when a research team has uncertain access to the samples it plans to use.
An evaluation plan loses value when its sample source exists only as an assumption. A research account executive can surface that risk without asking for protected details or deciding whether a study may proceed. The useful question concerns the team’s operational access: what material is expected, who controls release, and when can the evaluation coordinator confirm availability?
Ask the research lead to distinguish material already available from material they hope to receive. Find out whether another department, repository, or collaborator has a handoff role. If access depends on an internal review, record that dependency as owned by the customer. The executive can then schedule platform discussions around confirmed inputs rather than creating a calendar that the laboratory cannot use.
In a fictional call, Maya says, “We will have the cohort samples by the demo week, so please reserve the full setup.” The executive answers, “I can reserve time once we understand the access point. Who confirms release, and what can the team provide if the cohort is delayed?” Maya explains that a repository coordinator controls distribution and has not set a date. They agree to invite the coordinator to a short planning call and keep the first session focused on workflow questions.
