Review Utility Restoration Service With a Scorecard
Use incident facts and named owners to address uneven service during utility restoration work.
When a utility customer reports uneven restoration support, a general apology rarely identifies what needs repair. The account manager can review each incident by branch, request time, delivery status, access issue, service record, and customer contact. That scorecard gives both organizations a shared way to see patterns without guessing why a specific event occurred.
Rory, a utility operations lead, said, “Your north branch kept us waiting while the south branch was responsive. Why should we keep this program?” Denise answered, “I want to review the actual calls with you. Can we compare request times, approved delivery points, route conditions, and the updates each branch gave your crews?” Rory noted that the north site moved after a road closure. Denise said, “I will have the branch manager bring the dispatch record. We will identify an owner for each gap and agree on an update cadence before your next readiness meeting.”
The scorecard does not erase the customer's impact. It directs recovery toward evidence, local ownership, and a date for checking progress. Service commitments remain subject to the approved program and conditions in each market.
Choose three past service events and make a review on one page with only facts that can be verified. In roleplay, let the customer cite a broad complaint. Practice acknowledging it, asking permission to examine the record, and scheduling a review with branch leaders. A manager can assess whether the rep turns emotion into a workable agenda.
