Plan a Connection Inquiry With Realistic Supplier Verification

A connection request often arrives as a simple question: can we make this work? The advisor’s job is to uncover the itinerary, identify what needs supplier confirmation, and explain the limits of a planning estimate. A short layover may be acceptable to one traveler and unworkable for a family changing terminals with checked bags.

Ask for the travel date, departure airport, destination, passenger names as shown on documents, baggage plan, and any mobility or assistance needs that affect transfers. Find out whether the traveler is asking about one ticketed journey or separately purchased flights. Review the supplier display for connection details and any stated conditions. Airport, carrier, and entry requirements can change, so use authoritative current sources when a question falls outside the supplier record.

In a fictional planning call, Priya said, “I found a 55 minute connection in Madrid. Please tell me it is safe before I move the rest of our trip.” Advisor Cole replied, “I can check the current itinerary details and the supplier’s connection information. Are both flights on the same ticket, and will you check bags?” Priya said the flights were separate tickets and her parents would travel with her. Cole answered, “That changes the planning risk. I will verify the current arrival and departure terminals through the carrier information, then show you this option beside a longer connection. I will label what is confirmed by each supplier and what still depends on the day’s operations.”

Send a comparison that names the transfer time, ticket arrangement, baggage responsibility, source checked, and date checked. Do not describe a connection as guaranteed. Ask them to explain which facts they can verify, which traveler constraints change the recommendation, and what they would confirm before requesting a booking.
