Check Whether Parking Is Included in the Quoted Rate
Help reservations agents verify parking information for a selected stay and avoid relying on a general property description.
Parking can change a traveler’s comparison of two room rates, especially for a short stay. A reservations agent should learn the vehicle need, dates, and rate being considered, then check the current booking source and approved property information. A website headline or a past guest’s experience may not describe the selected rate or current parking arrangement.
Ask whether the traveler needs overnight parking, accessible parking, electric charging, or vehicle clearance information. Route detailed operational questions to the property team when the approved source does not answer them. Explain the confirmed terms in the same sentence as the rate so the traveler can judge the total booking choice.
In a fictional call, Marisol said, “Your rate is $189. Does that include parking for our SUV?” The agent answered, “I will check the available rate terms for your Friday arrival and Saturday departure. Do you need overnight parking only, or are you also asking about charging or clearance?” Marisol said overnight parking was enough. The agent reviewed a sample booking display and said, “The $189 rate lists room charges and does not list parking as included. The property’s current parking information states a separate overnight charge, which I can show with the booking terms. I will also check the approved property guidance for the vehicle entrance before I give an answer about clearance.” Marisol asked whether she could reserve a space. The agent said, “I will confirm the property’s current process for that request before I describe availability.”
Record the parking question beside the reservation details and the source checked. In a roleplay, ask one traveler about an electric vehicle and another about a large van. Review whether the agent distinguishes rate inclusions from property operations, reads current information, and gives a named follow-up for an unanswered parking condition.
