Guide a family plan conversation with usage questions
Help shoppers compare plan needs by discussing people, devices, travel, and account responsibilities.
Family plan conversations work best when the consultant learns how each person uses a device before comparing plan terms. A low monthly figure may leave out a need that matters to the shopper, such as shared data, travel, device protection, or account access. Clear questions make the plan discussion easier to follow.
Renee says, “I need four lines, and I just want the cheapest option.” Malik replies, “I can show the plan choices clearly. Before I do, who will use each line, how much data do they tend to use, and will anyone travel or need a hotspot?” Renee says one child streams on the bus, her spouse travels for work, and she manages the account. Malik says, “Thank you. I will compare the available plans using those needs and point out the monthly service, any device payments, and the terms that affect hotspot or travel use. You can decide which tradeoffs fit your household.”
The explanation should make it easy for Renee to repeat the choice later. Write the number of lines, current devices, expected data use, travel needs, account holder, and questions to confirm. Use approved plan materials for every price, fee, and included feature.
Practice with a coworker playing a shopper who asks for the cheapest plan. Ask three usage questions before discussing a plan name. After the roleplay, check whether you explained who controls account changes and where the shopper can review the terms.
