Turn Demonstration Questions Into a Research Evaluation Log
Capture questions from a platform demonstration so the customer can review evidence with the right owners.
A platform demonstration can create useful momentum when the questions become an organized evaluation record. Without that record, attendees often remember different details and follow-up becomes a stream of loosely connected requests. A research account executive can keep the session productive by asking what each question is intended to decide.
During a fictional demonstration, Noor, a principal investigator, asks whether a workflow could support her planned study. The executive says, “Let’s record the study parameter you are assessing and who will review the approved information with you.” A core manager then asks about intake volume, while an IT representative asks about a local connection. Each question has a different evidence owner and a different next discussion.
Use a log with four fields: question, customer decision, approved evidence or specialist needed, and next owner. Read the entries back before the meeting ends. This gives the customer a chance to correct the purpose of a question and prevents the account team from converting an exploratory discussion into a claim. Send the log with links or materials only after the relevant owner has confirmed them.
Coach a teammate by replaying one demonstration question. Ask them to respond with a clarifying question before answering: “What will your team use that information to decide?” Score the response on whether it identified a decision and a review owner. A complete log should leave each participant able to see what happens next and why it matters to their evaluation.
