Managing an Added Location Request
An account manager can collect details for a new location and coordinate carrier processing without saying the site is covered or the landlord will accept documents.
A franchise owner opening next week may need documents for a landlord before the business is ready. The account manager should ask for the exact address, opening date, business activity, lease language, and authorized contacts. Those details support an endorsement request and any separate certificate work.
Say: “I can start the service request once we have the verified location details and the lease language. I cannot confirm coverage or landlord acceptance before carrier processing and document review, but I will coordinate the endorsement and certificate paths and update you with their status.”
A photo of the lease may be a useful starting point, but do not promise it completes the intake. Explain which facts need confirmation and keep the client informed about the separate owners involved.
Practice a service handoff in which the client has only two days. Listen for an accurate urgency statement, a short fact list, and no binding assurance.
Spend two minutes after the call reviewing the request. Can another teammate tell whether the new address is operational yet, what activity will occur there, and which records support those facts? If any answer is missing, ask one focused follow-up. A supervisor can review the notes for a document owner, service deadline, and language that leaves policy changes to authorized review.
