Discussing a Jewelry Schedule Request
A personal lines advisor can explain the documentation path for a valuable item without promising that a receipt alone will support scheduling.
A customer with a new valuable gift may want an immediate answer before traveling. Ask what item they purchased, which documents they have, when they leave, and whether they expect to take it abroad. The advisor should explain that item information must be verified and may require further review.
Say: “I can help you start the request today. Please send the purchase receipt through the secure channel, and I will confirm whether additional documentation is needed for review. I cannot promise the item is scheduled until that process is complete.”
A question such as “Is the receipt enough?” is a request for certainty the advisor may not have. Do not value the item or interpret coverage. State what is known, name the documentation owner, and give a realistic follow-up date.
Practice this scenario by shortening the answer to three sentences: acknowledge travel timing, describe the secure intake, and keep the scheduling decision with the authorized process.
Have the customer present a purchase receipt and ask whether it is enough for a trip next week. Record item details and explain that scheduling depends on required information and review. A useful recap separates the receipt already in hand from an appraisal or other documentation that may be requested. Give a next action without placing a value on the item or assuring protection.
