Review a joint account plan with a partner
Guide a partner account plan toward customer evidence, roles, and an agreed next conversation.
A joint account plan is valuable when it captures what the customer has actually shared and who will do the next work. A Channel Manager should help the partner separate known stakeholder information from assumptions. The review can then focus on one credible customer conversation rather than a large untested account strategy.
Ask the partner to name the customer contact, the stated issue, current stage, and any decision date the customer confirmed. Ask who from the partner and vendor should attend the next meeting. If the partner does not yet have buyer access, plan the action that creates an introduction instead of inventing deal detail.
“This account could be our largest opportunity,” says the partner seller. Morgan asks, “Who has told you they are evaluating connectivity, and what did they say?” The seller admits the account appears on a target list. Morgan replies, “Then our next action is to earn a conversation. Who can introduce you to the operations leader?” The seller names a former colleague. Morgan says, “Let’s write the introduction request and decide what question we want to ask in that first call.”
Bring one account plan to your next coaching session and underline each customer fact. Put a question mark beside everything else. Choose one fact based action that either advances an existing conversation or earns the first one. After the partner meeting, send the plan back with the customer source, joint owners, and the exact date for checking the next action.
